Mines from a 02 sc and the one i got is from a 02 na. I can't get a reading on either sticks and I just did an oil change and put in 5 liters of oil. I kinked the origonal tube so I took the one from my junk 5.3 and had to cut a couple centimeters off the lower end so it was exactly the same length. Since then I couldn't get a reading so Thats why i went to the junk yard and pulled another tube and stick. This way i can try to better bend the tube but both sticks are the same length so I know thats ok but I still have no oil reading.

Well that's crappy. Still don't know why I have know reading at all even though I have 5 litres in there.

I wasn't able to bolt it in yet as I have some minor adjusting to do(it's in a fiero). And yes it's bottomed out.

thats got to tough to deal with being its on the firewall side now. maybe a mirror will help tell if its truly bottomed out.

That's why it had to be bent to a different position. I have a 4 post hoist in my garage that it's on so I can visually see it's bottomed out.

bending the tube should not change the dip sticks depth.

I know that's the screwy thing. I'm going to pull it out and put the one I got from the junk yard and see. The lifts nice but I it it mostly for storage that way I have full use of the bay.

i worked on these condo's for a while, id say every 3 rd condo had a lift installed so they could lift one and park another under the it.

plus its a car lift so you can work on your cars.

Bingo. I have a two car garage and toys. This was the only way to have my stuff in there and have the wife's vehicle in the garage at the same time. My poor vehicle gets stuck outside in the snow. My only problem is I had to take down the garage opener off so I could go max lift. It's nice I have 12' ceilings.

*facepalm*. I figured it out. When I used my 5.3 dipstick and tube I made sure to line up the bottom of the tubes and made sure the sticks were the same length and used the 5.3 tube. Well the bends in the 5.3 tube, the stick wouldn't work so I left it out to see if I could find a cable one. Forgetting that I stuck the 3800 stick to check the oil levels but it wouldn't read because of the different length tubes. Man I hate forgetting stuff.
