I've read tons of information on here about people modding their engines and then dropping to 3.4" pulleys. Even people modding hardcore and dropping to 3.0" pulleys on GenV's, running E85 and all that which is awesome. But before intercooling, at what point should injectors be upgraded?

If you are running them to almost static, they need to be upgraded or if you are swtiching fuel types.

A scanner or tuning software can monitor the duty cycle of the injectors and if you're at 90-95% you are about to run out of fuel. Figure most 3.4 setups will never need injectors, but somewhere around the 3.2 range can it be an issue.

E85 should be on 60lbs just to keep it simple.

I may have answered my own question, but more info would be appreciated as well.
in the "Safely Modding Your 3800" thread, it says anything smaller than a 3.1" pulley will run the stock 33# injectors static. Well, I thought the 1997 - 2003's had 36# injectors? Correct me if I'm wrong.

I was planning on trying this set up
3.4" (or 3.3" if my knock allows)
    1.9 Rockers
    SD Headers
    180° t-stat
    AL 104's
    Open Cone Intake
    and an Overkill Tune

do you think 42# would be fine for 3.2-3.0 range on genv and at what point do you need a bigger fuel pump

Stock is fine for the most part unless it's high mileage then it may be a good excuse to upgrade but generally that guys the upgrade their pumps are upgrading because of e85
