    When you start needing to flow more air than the stock TB can handle.

    Think super tiny pulley and a large ported inlet on the blower (along with all the needed mods to run said tiny pulley)

    Pretty much. I'm still rocking my L67 on my 3.0 setup. I think if I were to drop to the 2.8 or smaller setup where I would need to get into a different MAF setup I'd switch to a different TB.

    3" and smaller pulleys, which is also when you should be swapping to a Gen5. Northstar, Gen5 M90 and an intercooler all go hand in hand together.
