hey guys. i have question about the smallest pulley size i can run safely on my build. anyways the motor is going to be a rebuilt l26 bottom end (9.4 comp. ratio) powdered metal rods. car will have 105 springs, double roller chain, ls7 lifters, zzp xp cam, stage 1 methanol injection, and ported blower-intake-heads. I'm trying to shoot for 350-400 hp. I'm going with the stock style graphite head gaskets. I'm wanting to go as small of a pulley size as I can without worrying about blowing a gasket. i was thinking 3.0 but i need some better advice before pulling the trigger on buying the pulley.

start with a 3.4, but have a 3.2 and 3.0 on hand, maybe even a 2.8 if you don't want to run more timing than stock.

head studs are going to be important in this setup.

I would have gone with a different cam on a high comp. motor with ported heads, would have netted you better gains.

Besides that, I'd say like that^. Start with a 3.4", go from there. I'd rather keep it around the 3.2"~ area and crank the timing and lean it out more, especially with the meth inj. What nozzle are you running?

As far as the tuning goes I have no clue how to use hp tuners. I'll be taking it to a tuner for that. And this is going in a 3.8 camaro so the stock tune will be that of a n/a 3800 until it is tuned. (Btw I'm using 42 lb injectors) and I'm not sure of the nozzle size off hand. I just know it supports up to 500 hp at the crank from the description. Its a kit from cooling mist with electrically controlled solenoid and I think 200 psi pump? So I'm guessing arp head stud will be a nessessity with this build as opposed to stock head studs.

The car won't even run if it's on an N/A PCM, and if it does...it'll run like crap.

    Tow it where ever.

Planning on it lol. I figure the na tune could cause an issue even if run for a little bit due to the timing being higher.

get head studs. the stock head bolts blow compared to head studs.

Noted. I had considered them. Just wasnt sure if they were needed if stock head bolts were torqued properly. But I will add them to the list.

There is a tedious torque pattern that takes about 3-4 trips around to secure them the right way. So make sure you follow the steps if you do the studs.

Why run stock head gaskets? Your running high boost high compression and you want to use stock bolts and stock gaskets?
