So for thr record this is the first time this car has has failed to start in this sh*t weather. It was 5° tonight and I was tried to remote start the car and thought nothing about I went outside about 5minutes later and its off. Thought I must have been out of range or something. I hop in start her up idles kinda high for a few seconds and they dies. I let it sit for a second and tried it again giving it some throttle. Strangely and this is was fine. Not sure why it died. Crappy gas? Cold Weather ... ? Also I have been noticing this strange whinning/sucking/howling (when idling or under like throttle) its hard to describe. Probably just the effects of the cold weather but I have yet to ever have a car act this way so im just concerned thanks for you input in advance

FYI it drives just fine. I drove for over 2hours prior to taking that video.

Sounds like your intake with some sort of belt or pulley going bad because if the car dies that means it would not be getting power or spin from the alternator

that sounds like a frozen power steering pump/thick fluid. if it went away soon after it started thats what it is. mine was angry the other day in 4 deg's it made some whining and went away as i softly rocked the wheel back and forth a little bit.

as far as the stalling, the auto start thought it kicked over, but it failed. it takes a longer crank to fire these cars up in the ice cold.

I just replaced the pump like 2months ago I cracked the cap and I can see the flow. I looked up some stuff could it be a bad idler pulley?

take the belt off, then start the engine, if its gone its something on the front of the engine is to blame.

hows the power steering? stiff or it feel normal?

pop the belt off, spin the pulleys by hand see if one wobbles or dont turn smooth. then fire it up with no belt on to make sure its not something else.

with the car running, (this aint safe. do at your own risk) reach in and put a finger on the bolt holding the tensioner, and the idler pulleys. if its bad you will feel it grinding via your finger tip. you'll notice it clearly if the other pulley is smooth feeling. just be careful you dont loose a finger.

that metallic squeal, sounds like a bad idler pulley. check it asap. when it blows, it blows up good, when you toss a belt it can break other stuff for you.

I believe that is the alternator making noise. Its unrelated to the humming coming from up from . Idk if its normal but my other 04 gp did the same
