I was driving to work thus morning and I hit railroad tracks at the normal speed I always around 25 mph. And my steering wheel locked up. Hard turning. I got out of my car popped the hood and my alternator belt popped off. What could cause this problem?

Wrong size belt possibly or it could be worn would be my guess.

Same size as stock. Belt is not worn at all.

Tensioner might be the cause, throw the belt back on and keep driving. If it happens again then start figuring out why its happening.
