Just doing some research in case I need a new one with the Aeromotive 355 I installed last week. I seem to have trouble starting my car now.

Can I bypass the in tank and run an external?

I would suggest running a stock L67/L36 regulator myself.

Also, the regulator is in the fuel filter on 04+ right?

How hard is it going to be to get the return line setup on the top of the sending unit? Also going to need to bypass the "in tank filter regulator" thing there.

Well I am 100% set on going to a return system. I have to figure out if the 97-03 canister will fit on/in my tank rather than bypass anything I want to do it right. As of now I am going from a 3.0 to a 3.3 pulley until next spring.

The advantages of a "return" system are minimal at best. I would rather just upgrade the fuel pump to handle what you need at this point. You can make more than enough power on a big single pump.

I had 2 big pumps, Walbro 255 and an Aeromotive 355

both made my car run like ****, hard as **** to start and it would lean out at WOT 13.5-14 while the stock pump was 10.5-11.3.

I am bypassing the **** stock regulator and converting to the return style system so I can adjust the pressure.

Also doing a check valve or a manual switch to power on the pump on to resolve the hard starting.

Install error should not be an excuse as to why it didnt work. Put them in right and you wont have any problems. If you have pressure creep a 15dollar switch can turn the second pump off out of boost.
