Pulled the supercharger apart today and was not impressed. It appears something when through there, not sure what but doesn't look good.

    Now heres my questions.

    1. Theres a bunch of little scratches in the case, is it possible to hone that out to make it smooth, or is the case even salvageable? I could buy a supercharger from the pick n pull but i run the same risk of needing a snout rebuild.

    2. Difficulty of rebuild? I checked out the videos and it doesn't seem to hard.

    3. If i do rebuild it, im going to port it too. I checked out the thread and everybody says the way to do it is just extend the V Up and down, then just smooth it out, but then people said thats a terrible way to do it. If thats not the way, then what IS?

I didn't get a pic of the rotors, but they weren't much better.

    Thanks!

Just bought me a Gen5, and honestly you'll probably end up paying more to rebuild your Gen3(if a shop does it) then what a Gen5 will cost now of days(there's people out there that just wants to get rid of it, moving on to different cars and builds). If you really want to keep a Gen3 then check Ebay, craigslist or keep checking here, people are selling Gen3 from left to right.

Looks pretty normal to me. How do your rotors look? I've never seen a case (stock) that's been perfect on the inside.

I can get a pic of the rotors on monday, but they don't look great. They have most of the coating left but the edges look like something went through them. I took it too a shop and they said that its probably fine to run, just might not create as much boost

Definetly normal. The higher mileage cars that have superchargers will look like. Infact I bet if most guys on this forum actually opened there's up they'd have similar pics.

looks like normal wear and tear, but it does look like it lacked a few oil changes. Look like it may have had a lil to much of metal contact, due to the lack of oil and oil changes(fresh oil).

The blower will look like that after 10 miles off the dealer lot. The rotors are designed to cut into the case for a perfect fit new.

100k.....WOW. I remember once I changed my S/C oil 3 times just because...well once was bc I did the coupler and most would just reuse if its not bad but I don't believe in putting used oil back into anything when I can just put new oil in it. It doest hurt to change any oil. You could spend a few bucks on fresh oil or a few thousand for a new motor. 100k miles though, naw i'll pass on that one.
