Just picked up my new car, a 2006 GT. Runs fine until you give it 3/4 to full throttle then it starts to stutter and you can feel the car buck.

What could be the problem, I'm thinking maybe MAF, but I'd like your opinions.

Thanks ahead of time, hopefully I can solve this quick.

    Do a tune up.

Some new plugs, check the wires (replace if needed), clean the MAF sensor and the throttle body itself. 04+ TB's love to turn black.

Then see if the car still does it.

What do I look for with the wires? I'll clean the throttle body and maf tomo and hopefully that solves it, if not I'll replace the plugs.

According to the torque app I'm getting around 8* of KR on a stock car, how's that possible?

Just look to see if they have alot of age to them. If the rubber looks really bad or any tears, replace them.

Make sure the car is running 91+ octane aswell.

KR could go down after the car is running properly.

Ok, picked up some MAF and throttle body cleaner today, waiting for the engine to cool down then I'll go out to try that and check the wires.

I just filled it with 91 octane. I dont know if they used 91 before me though.

    Thanks for the help.

Cleaned the MAF the best I could, couldn't figure out how to undo the clip and didn't want to break it and cleaned the throttle body, which looks black behind the plate but it was too hot for me to move it to get behind.

It still does it, except now only sometimes.

The car also sounds like it's backfiring when I rev it up a bit in park. Don't know if that means anything or not.

Going to try to do plugs and wires tomorrow and see what happens then.

That's what the first spark plug looked like, kind of white. Can't get the boots off the other 5 right now though -_-

You can remove the TB to make it easier to clean. It's just held down by those 4 bolts (10mm I believe)

Avoid beating on it though until you fix the problem.

It amazing what fresh plugs and wires can do to these cars.
