Right now my car is BONE stock, but, after getting the basic supporting mods (180*tstat, Downpipe, CAI, colder plugs(should I run TR55s or TR6s?) etc) Ive heard other people say I need to run .1 size bigger because I have an '04. Its not a Series 3 and doesnt have a Gen V on it, so I thought I could follow the same parameters when it comes to modding as a 99-03 GTP? Am I missing something here?

Yes, you have the L67 in your MCSS (same as the 97-03 gtp) It is a Series II engine with a Gen III Eaton M90.

scrap the down pipe idea, get headers and pop a 3.4 pulley on it.

and forget the 180 t stat, leave it stock at 195.

    and read this thread. http://www.grandprixforums.net/safel...0-a-67580.html

I had a 2002 GTP like 6 years ago and I was thinking... This Monte has the SAME exact fckin setup... why would I need to run one larger? Dude is an idiot obviously. I just needed affirmation. Headers and Pop a 3.4 WITHOUT the tstat? I already ordered plugs, tstat, and a new fuel filter... I guess I could resale them if I chose to go that route. Im probably going to do the easy stuff first... suspension/brakes first... this is my only car right now, so I cant have it out of commission if I screw something up... Do any of yall by chance know anyone who does tunes or has knowledge of the L67 down near San Antonio, Texas? Its pretty much all LS Camaros and Mustangs down here. : /

a gen 5 blower works better then a gen 3, so if you had a gen 5 you would only want to drop to a 3.6 with out further tuning, or a cam and a inter cooler, aka, some more mods. same goes for the gen 3, most just do a 3.4 with headers. but you can go smaller with a ic, cam, flow mods basically.

you got a few texas guys who tune on the board here, with any luck one will pop in here.

Thanks Scotty. I know the key with these engines is to get them breathing and have the exhaust flowing better. I just went from a G6 GXP (which was fun but I wasnt happy with) and before that I had a 2000 Camaro SS (totalled RIP). These cars are just a ton of fun to work with and the aftermarket demand is crazy. There are a ton of options. But yeah... Hopefully I come across someone from my area (Austin/Houston are both relatively close.)
