Hey hows it going guys. Well I bought a 2004 grand prix gtp with 109,000 miles on it last week. In the last week Ive replaced the radiator, catalytic converter, and done a full tune up. Im having some issues with the car right now though, when I start the car it starts then idles low for a couple seconds then goes back up to my regular idle. The only issues I have found was that the vacumme line was cracked off the supercharger bypass solenoid, along with their being no suction coming through the hose anyways. I already ordered the parts but would this be my starting issue? And would this help me get some of the power back? Theres also a lot of carbon buildup in the throttle body so im gonna clean that up tomorrow. Thanks!

I wouldn't worry too much about the carbon buildup in the throttle body. Give it another week and it will be the same again. Unless the carbon is so thick its causing problems with the throttle sticking, no worries. The EGR doing what it does best causes this, unless you get rid of it, you will have the same problem as the rest of us. Clean it and put it back on.

The rest of the problem... I have no idea.

    sorry, but good luck

The EGR re-routes gases (including carbon) from the exhaust back into the intake, just behind the throttlebody. It fills the area with carbon and deposits get all over everything. That is why its gunked up and black all over the supercharger and inside of the throttlebody. Notice when you take the throttle body off there is a hole at the base of the supercharger with a tube sticking up through it. That goes from the EGR, follow down and you see the EGR pipe going from the LIM (Lower Intake Manifold) down to the Valve and then to the rear exhaust manifold. It sucks and it needs to be cleaned every now and then, but don't expect it to stay that way long.

This isn't going to be very much of your problem, just a typical thing you should be aware of.
