Re: Once again the supposed Stroked Out GTX...
Guys have been using gen III IC w/ their Gen V for awhile now. It's still very effective.

Also, stock lifters would solve other problems as well, as they have a much wider preload window than an OER does. OER lifters technically require adjustible preload rockers, which you do not have.
So basically, put stock parts in place of your omg race car parts and pickup power and reliability. I wouldnt worry about the motor at this point, stroker or not its going to still be just a motor at the end of the day.
Might as well add the LS7 lifters right?
True but I would also like to know what I have before I do any kind of modding to it, still deciding. Any idea where I can get that exact pushrod?

Well that put a smile on my face. I just hears so many people asking when buying if it is for a gen 3 or 5 so I figured there must be a difference and a reason why people don't save a couple of bucks and buy a gen 3 setup for there gen V.
Re: Once again the supposed Stroked Out GTX...
Well if you have a genV and youre buying an intercooler you might as well get a genV intercooler. The price difference is pretty minor. It is better to have functioning PCV and a bigger opening. It just doesnt make much difference. In my situation and a lot of people's situations I started with a gen3 m90 on a gen3 IC and then switched to a genv m90 so I just kept my intercooler.
The fastest m90 powered car in the 1/4 ran a genV on a gen3 IC.

So my question here is can I open up the IC inlet more so it can match the outlet of my gen v, as you can see it does block some not a lot but I don't want there to be any kind of restriction at all.

No point in using anything but stock lifters. The pushrod is not a big deal a this point.. I would check to make sure you dont have a cam that requires some stupid pushrod by measuring the ones you have and posting up what you have. Make sure you measure most all of them to make sure one isnt longer than the other.
The whole gen5/3 ic debate is retarded. It really just comes down to nerds that care more about "build" than performance, and their addiction to giving zzp/intense money for no obvious reason.

Stock is 7.05. I wonder if you have a xpz or something in there.

Arent stock lifters the same as LS7? I just want something reliable. Like I said I am sure I will take out the engine later this year, but for now I want to get it running how it sits, to pass smog and register it and be able to move it around without messing anything up.
The IC came with the car I personally wouldn't buy one. So does that mean I can use it with my gen v with no issue?

That would be nice Since that is what I planned on putting on there, but is it possible to run the 1.6 rockers with a xpz?
Re: Once again the supposed Stroked Out GTX...
I'm pretty sure the xpz take special length pushrods. I'm not sure about other cams as i have no experience there. I'm running stock valvetrain with s1x other than my valve springs that is.

They do take special rods, I have a xpz already waiting to go into this Gtx lol
Re: Once again the supposed Stroked Out GTX...
YT rockers take longer push rods, I just did that job.. that looks like what's supposed to be with the YT rockers.
I held them side by side before I started installing

Do you have a stock cam?
Re: Once again the supposed Stroked Out GTX...
By the looks of that video, it needs an engine mount.

Yeah, stock cam. It's because of how the yt rockers are made, the guy from intense explained it all for me.
Re: Once again the supposed Stroked Out GTX...
I would try stock pushrods/lifters/rockers and see what sort of preload that makes.

My reason for not wanting to do this, is just because the car was running fine it had some codes for the maf and other things which is why I figured it would shut off by itself. But if I can get the car to run fine with the yella terra rockers by just replacing the pushrod and lifters to get more power out of it for now why not?
I just don't want to get too involved in this project just yet, just get it up and running fine, get the tints done, do my 04 seat swap and see if it is driveable like that if not xpz time for when Paul from PRJ gets here to tune it for me on e85

Could you elaborate on this, please?
Re: Once again the supposed Stroked Out GTX...
Quick question guys, does it matter if it might have oer lifters or not? I want to put ls7 but I do not know if the difference in tolerance might affect anything or not.
