    Just wondering if i can use some otger oil instead of s/c oil like gear oil or some sort of light weight engine oil lmk
    01 GTP is3 cam 130 springs double roller 60lb injectors lq4 maf headers 4000 stall lowered
    sold 97 GTP stock
    Sold 2001 gp gt ssm90 plog dp 3.8 208 whp 265 at the crank 14.8 1/4

    You can run a Full syn 5w20 or 5w30 for a short time period if you can't get supercharger oil right away.

    Looks like my snout seal is shot leaked out quick
    01 GTP is3 cam 130 springs double roller 60lb injectors lq4 maf headers 4000 stall lowered

    I wouldnt run a real thick oil in it, be best to just replace the seal.

    i used some mobil 1 75 90 gear oil for a long time on my gtp with no issues or leaks
    06 GXP | 222/227 cam/cartuning turbo kit on 8psi/meth/e85 coilovers/ still on stock trans at 130k

    I believe you need a press to take apart the snout. I haven't heard of anyone that went that route normally they just spend a few bucks and buy a snout off here.

    Gear oil is too thick. I've used 10w-30 mobile 1 before for about 10k miles without issue. It's best to use S/C oil though.

    TLsheff has a copy of the tech bulletin saying 5-20 or 5-30 mobil one full syn.

    Rebuilding isn't bad if you have an idea what you are doing. Which is easy if you reference rollingperformance.com's how to.
    I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
