I've been looking for a kit that's made specifically for my Grand Prix GT. Talked to the guys at K & N and they said they do not have the kit for my specific car. Any ideas?

HELLLOOOO
Why would you want a CAI for the GP? It has RAM Air! Unless you do a proper CAI with the cone in a box keeping it cool, you'll actually lose power if you are sucking in warm air from the engine! A CAI won't increase your performance over the RAM air. Did this with Grand AM GT's too and there was no difference in WHP or torque. And, most people just put a CAI and leave the cone open under the hood which just ends up sucking hot air from the engine and decreases performance. Personally I'd save my money for something else but it's up to you.
I did search!
Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.
The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search : ram, air
Because the two words: RAM AIR.
Are dumb.
Here...I searched "Cold Air Intake"...these are just a FEW threads.

lol he said a HAI doesn't do nothin
Well, I thought that the GTP came with RAM Air! I did a little digging and the only model that had RAM Air was the GTX Grand Prix GTX by SLP. It's ok, I've been wrong before! lol.
A WAI won't give you any gains over the stock setup and can even give you less power. There are some kits out there with a box for the cone that keeps it away from warm engine air. Of course, you can always just make your own boc too.
If you are referring to a "Hot Air Intake" then it won't do anything. Sucking warm air into the engine will actually give you less power. It can even throw off your IAT sensor and make you run too rich.
I had a HAI set up on my Camaro and put it on the dyno. I had 7WHP less than the stock set up. I put the car on the dyno when I first got it for a baseline. I then went and took the pipe and insulated it and built a box to put the cone in only leaving a hole to grab cold air behind the headlight. I sealed it up and put it on the dyno. The result was a 10WHP gain which gave me 3WHP more than the stock set up. In the end was it worth it to spend $80.00 on a CAI for 3 WHP? Not really, but it looks cool!
IAT Sensor = Intake TEMPERATURE sensor
MAF = Mass Air Flow Sensor...which delegates and tells the PCM how much air is entering the engine...the IAT will only tell the PCM what temp the air is at.
Also, this isn't a Camaro.
These cars...no matter anyway you slice it, don't gain power from hardly any intake setup...until you are running super small pulleys and you need the flow...because in the long run, Flow > Ambient Air Temps. Also...the factory corrugated tubing in the intake track is awfully restrictive...and in '97-'98, the factory air box they have two, 90* bends. Which is where the gains are really going to be had.
Agreed. The 2000 GTP that I have will sound better with a WAI but won't give me any gains in power. Also, tests between a K&N drop-in filter vs a paper filter dont show any gains at all. K&N drop-in filters are great for off-roading because it won't damage the filter if it gets wet and you can rinse it out and put it back in where a paper filter gets clogged if it gets wet.
