Re: Supercharger boosting half way when warm?
you have to put the colder plugs in it and i think they need to be changed more frequently than the stock grade ones do.
if you ran with stock grade and it was good at one time maybe you just need them replaced because they're worn out.
it also could be a vacuum leak. its 98 so you probably should redo all of them anyway. autozone or advance or oreilly has it by the foot. its like a dollar a foot. and get the plastic t fittings.
or they have fancy silicone online with brass t fittings on zzperformance
Re: Supercharger boosting half way when warm?
Colder plugs if you are running a smaller pulley. Im running NGK TR55's on my 3.4 Currently. Soon to be 3.5. Stick with Autolight 606's if stock or Iridiums.

No, they function for the same mileage.

Hey now.....if you're going to quote me, quote all of it.
I've read they wear out faster a few times....that's why i said "I think."
I appreciate the information, though:th_thumbsup-wink: and am happy to hear that since i don't have stock plugs.
Re: Supercharger boosting half way when warm?
I also replaced my intake manifold gasket because it was leaking, BUT i did not torque it down to specs, i just made it snug. Would that be a problem?
Re: Supercharger boosting half way when warm?
could be. i torqued mine snug and never had issues but if something didnt seal up right its no good. are you leaking coolant?
Re: Supercharger boosting half way when warm?
Re: Supercharger boosting half way when warm?
well, if the problem started after doing the gaskets then you may have something going on with that--assuming the car ran fine before. like maybe a vacuum is leaking somewhere. after pulling those apart doing the intake they are so old they crack and stuff. not just the lines but the rubber boots and stuff.
if not and its always run like garbage its probably the plugs.

New guy here. Do you know what they are called on zz?
Thanks
Re: Supercharger boosting half way when warm?
If you are going off of pure power or intake sound, then all engines put out slightly less power when hot, especially boosted ones, that's one reason for trying to keep the intake temperatures as low as possible.
Other possibilities are a vacuum or exhaust leak, the expansion from heat can make certain leaks worse after an engine is hot, especially around EGR and manifolds.
