Yup...done it a few times.
Crack the 4 8mm bolts on teh pully free
Use a 13mm at 6 and 12 oclock through the pulley to lower the ps pump
Remove pulley from pump
Remove 4 10mm bolts from pump (one at 6 oclock)
Remove 4 13mm bolts from pump
Clean well
Install new .. torque bolts to 13ft lbs
Reinstall the rest
yup, take the bolts out and change it. the p/s pump needs to be un bolted, it blocks a long bolt, and the lower idler pulley needs to come off, its a 15 mm bolt, ot a t 55 torx to get it off.
put thread sealant on the 4 long bolts, use a dry gasket, bolt it back.
oh, big tip, with the belt still on, loosen up the 4 bolts on the w/p pulley, then take the pump off. when your done make those 4 bolts tight again, when the belt is back on, dont forget them.
looks like this off. see the p/s pimp hanging, and the lower idler pulley is off.
i had a few days till i put the new on, so i painted it black.
I often use the screwdriver between a bolt and the center of the pulley to tighten/loosen the pulley bolts.
Hmmm wonder if I have a picture of how I mod that idler piece to get a socket past it. Good call Scott... I missed the idler in my info.
take it back off, then scrape the timing cover off good with a sharp razor, im thinking you left a chunk of the old gasket behind.
you put the thread sealant on the 4 long bolts? they can leak if not sealed.
I wasn't even here. Thanks are all for Scotty.. he's the man on the scene. Night, day... even late night!
