Wanting some opinions from people. I was inspecting my spark plug wires on the coil end of the wire (will inspect the spark plug end as soon as my boot remover tool comes in mail) and I found that 2 of the posts had a bunch of corrosion. I took all boots off, dieletric greased & cleaned them all, and reinstalled the boots. I found that one of the boots was loose and upon internal inspection of all the boots found that the wire/crimp was corroded as well and a small piece of rusted metal came off the crimp/boot.

So I'm thinking about taking off the boots of the two damaged wires and replacing the ends with a new crimp. To do this, I would need to buy replacement boots and the small cheap crimp tool, total is around $25 just for 2 boots, 2 terminal crimps & the crimp tool. The entire wire kit would be $74. And the stock ACDelco wires are $27. Not to mention that before ordering any of these I would inspect the spark plug ends of each wires to see how they are holding up and the cost of replacing that end is $11 per 2 boots & crimps.

I'm looking for opinions/help. After inspecting the spark plug ends should I...
    A) Replace the ends of any plugs that are damaged ~$25-$35
    B) If the cost of replacing ends is close to or even half the cost of new wire set, just buy a new wire set ~$74
    C) Go back to ACDelco wires which are fairly cheap ~$27

So the main question becomes cost. But also, what is the main benefit of the MSD wires (aka, are they worth paying the extra amount or should I just go back to the stock ones cause they are cheaper?). Thanks for any help.

I think if this problem happens again I'm going back to the stock wires, I certainly can't keep buying new ones, way too expensive.

Since my last post I took off TB, cleaned it, replaced the TB Gasket, cleaned the MAF Sensor. These didn't fix the misfire problem. I finally had a chance today to replace both spark plug wires I had gotten for free from MSD. They were the cylinder 4 & 6 wires, replaced them, took off all other wires and used dieletric grease on the coil & spark plug end of the wires. This fixed the misfiring issue. I'm very excited.

As an update, I went back to Stock ACDelco Wires. the wires on the back of the engine were frozen to the plugs. The repair shop replaced the wires and also #4 plug was cracked. Now everything works and no misfires.
