lol, I'm disappointed that somewhere, someone...never mentioned straight pipes with all the great information in these 8 pages.
Straight pipes and stuff
Thanks, bugs.
all im going to do is try headers and maybe an intercooler with a tune of course after reading blues thead about modding safety. its a great sugestion guide and thats all i take it as.
This is how it goes.
Every car is different.
Headers work.
Headers don't work.
Like already stated, every car is different.
I couldn't run knock free without them.
My buddy ran a 3.4" knock free with a u-bend deleted and the cat hollowed out. Stock PCM...stock everything.
So get a way to scan it...whatever keeps you mostly knock free, will work. 2-3* isn't the end of the world, especially on larger pullies.
true i will get a gauge first to see were i stand on this "newer" motor. someone before me put a 3 inch exhaust on it and removed the u bend and put better injectors with a 3.6 pully on it. And it had a bad motor mount that nobody saw so that would cause tons of KR I would look at mounts first to see if they are in good shape
Better injectors?
there were some bosch 2 or bosch 3 on her since they both have 4 holes i cant tell with out looking up part numbers. they spray finer mist than stock and help it burn more effectly.
I'd put stockers back in.
uhhhh, wat.
the ECM is set up for them so changing them would result in something bad. generally im all about stock and would never alter a car out of stock but since this one is modded then hey go with the flow im getting to old to chase my tail on stock.
"every car is different" is so stupid.
I have never tuned a car that was different.. they are all 231cuin they all have the same heads, same blower, same everything... they are going to be the damn same.
You have a MECHANICAL ISSUE. FIX IT.
Or, just put on headers. Because four seconds.
Yeah, that's it....I get it.:th_laugh-lol2:
The original purpose to this thread was to get some ideas on where to begin looking to get rid of some KR. I do appreciate the input from some of you guys.
I honestly don't remember what plugs are in it, just stock heat range I believe. Also just a stock thermostat. Those will probably be changed out next and see if that helps.
180* and some 605's gapped at .050-.060 should help out quite a bit.
Especially with the canned PCM having the fan turn on points lower.
