break the bolt loose hold the chain and sprocket off.. is that a sentance?

Crawl under the car and remove the flex plate inspection cover. Put a pair of vice grips on the flex to hold it. Turn engine to have vice grips stop on trans housing. Then take bolt off.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

If the heads are still on. Sometimes putting the plugs back in makes enough compression, but that bolt is pretty tight. The vice grips works everytime.

I've.....in case you have no flex on it.

I've.. put something in the valley to stop the balance shaft from spinning when you rotate the motor. That will also allow you to get the bolt off.
