Before I explain what is going on here is what I have replaced/done

    replaced:
    plugs/wires
    tranny fluid
    tranny filter
    tranny gasket
    tranny lines
little marvel for cleaning up the transmission(doing the safe flush)
    vacume lines
    maf
    pcv

    done:
    cleaned injectors
    wd-40 vacuum leak check
    sea foamed
    cleaned the egr

Here's whats going on, No svs/ses/cel lights, the car drives well, idles smooth, shifts good, until you lock up in overdrive or at 35mph. I will going fine then lightly press on the gas and it surges/flutters. It jumps between 1200-1500 in overdrive, and when it does it at 35mph its jumps 1500-1700, but this is a rare occasion. The surge/flutter is sort of like a miss fire without the shaking. It also happens randomly, for example I drove for 5 days with no problems, on day six it surged only at 35mph for a little while, and today it was jumping when I shifted into overdrive at 45mph. Even stranger, I locked up in overdrive at 40mph today and then all was well. I Let off the gas then locked up at 45mph it surged again. I just took it to the transmission shop(specialize in domestics), told them exactly what I just wrote up. They told me, "That your transmission is fine but it could be a coil." What you guys think?

Did you happen to clean the throttle body? Looks like one possibility you didn't yet do.

Sounds about right. It's the standard TB cleaner.

YES! Just got back from the 400 mile trip and its looking good. I got a few bucks and surges but they were few and far between and canceled themselves out pretty quickly. All that was replaced was the front passenger hub with a timken and the egr gasket with a good cleaning. I'm still waiting on my replacement coil to be shipped(I was given one faulty one out of the three. don't you hate that?), and once I have it on, I'll replace the plugs with coppers(i was a dip and got platniums) to see if that will cure it completely, and hold me off till I can get the ac delco iridiums.

Thanks for all the help you guys have given me Ik it must of been annoying hearing about this once every month.

    One issue, one thread. Thanks.

BTW, spent my time merging this instead of answering the issue. Sorry, only so much time per post.
