U-bend delete is good, don't mess with the resonator. Doesn't improve performance, just makes your exhaust raspy as ****.

    louder muffs.

keep your stock res. in fact, i'd vote to replace the res when putting on louder muffs so that you know your res is at 100%.

These cars are old enough to be on their third aluminized exhaust systems.

alright. im new to the whole exhaust thing. whats the best mufflers for the buck? more importantly, how much does it cost to get a pair installed on our cars? also, what are the signs of a resonator going bad? thanks a lot

Yea I learned the hard way. Don't get a Flowmaster muffler. I know quite a few with Dynomax Super turbo mufflers and they don't sound to shabby.

resonator or no? a friend of mine gave me a pair of dynomax, but they're 2.5" inlet. i'm still trying to make it work, and the thought of replacing the exhaust all the way up to the downpipe crossed my mind. but isn't the downpipe still 2.25?

because they dont sound right. you need something that creates a smooth sound, not a burbly sound. this is not a truck, a v8 car, or anything of the like. smooth and toned sound best on these cars, not loud and droney.

Like 01GTP said... a 2" to 2.5" adapter. Theyre like 4$ a piece at autozone. I dont think they actually sell that big of an adapter you may need to get a 2" to 2.25 then a 2.25 to 2.5. it'll work.
