Hey guys, just an oddball question. So I've recently had my cooling system flushed and replaced with dexcool, full tuneup, removed hood liner, and replaced the airbox with an open cone. Car runs cool and heats up quick, steady at 194°. My question is that the engine SMELLS like it's running hot and the engine bay is super heated. I know my cart is done for and I'm guessing this is the cause, am I correct?

It's shouldn't be look for any leaks in the system, or go back to where you had it done. If their not bastards they'll do it for you again.

If they flushed and filled, they should have bled the cooling system as well. May not have been done. Get the motor up to temp and wait for the thermostat to open up, then crack open the bleed screw on top of the thermostat housing and wait for a steady stream of coolant. If it spits and sputters out first then that would be air in the system.

Although, with a 190* thermostat and fans that come on around 212 that sounds about right for stock temps.

If it "smells like hot oil," I'd assume that, barring fluids dropped outside engine, there's oil dripping from the typically-leaky valve cover gaskets on to the exhaust manifolds.

Lmao on the pic. I guess hot oil isn't the best description, it just smells hot when I pop the hood and the center console is warm to the touch. Like my cat is a million degrees

Heat rises up into the wngine bay from the cat and your hood traps the heat in so that's going to be a lot of your heat and its prolly warming up the thick layer of oil that's accumulated over the years from leaky valve covers
