I am looking to buy some new plug wires which brand do you think is best ? and what size ? and is this true "8.5mm is the optimum thickness. It retains all the spark energy. Wires thicker than 8.5mm slow down spark travel because they introduce too much capacitive loading (the electrical equivalent of inertia). " ?

Sounds like someone is trying to prey on those with little electrical knowledge.

I'd say that without a doubt the best wires for the 3800 are PRJ's.

If you want the best wires you can buy get the PRJ's, I love mine. They look amazing and make changing spark plugs and whatnot so much easier.

The PRJ's are freaking huge. And they do make plug changes a lot easier. They're on secure, but with dielectric grease in there all it takes is a light tug and they're off. A must if you go to copper core plugs that you have to change more often.

Here's a couple comparisons of the thickness of a 10.4mm wire.

I like the PRJ wires, there nice, but I wish they were sold in longer lengths. IMO, its hard to set them up cleanly in the engine bay. Thats why I run stock replacement lifetime wires, I can route them my way. Theres no performance gain either way anyway...

Stock wires are all you need. There is no point in upgrading to a MSD set of wires or a 'Taylor/MSD' combination set of wires that PRJ sells, other than just for looks.

I think my routing turned out pretty clean. I don't see why it would change much with a supercharger.

I was referring to his 'Look all you want, but don't touch' sticker on his core support.

I do it that way so I don't hog up the thread with pics. And the forum software here doesn't automatically resize pics so I don't want to stretch the page for people with smaller monitors. But I'm glad you took the initiative.
