Re: 99 Regal wont start-not starter
Tried reset I read which was key in ignition until the security light stops blinking and then start car. No luck. Is there a better method?
Also, no clue if normal or not but when keys in "on" position the idle air control motor on throttle body keeps "clicking", I don't hear it on my cavalier but that things a different story all around.
Re: 99 Regal wont start-not starter
If you still have this issue next week, I might be able to swing up that way and take a look. I'm pretty busy with customer work, but I try to get out and about and help out if I can.
Re: 99 Regal wont start-not starter
I hope I can figure it out by then but otherwise I greatly appreciate your offer!
Re: 99 Regal wont start-not starter
Sounds like a pass lock problem. Securty light should not be flashing .My 03 Impala did the same thing .I bought a bypass kit the takes the whole passlock system out of the loop. newrockies.com .They have the answers check it out .I put mine in about 1.5 hours never a problem since . about 175.00. money back if it doesnt work
Re: 99 Regal wont start-not starter
i finally left the house today, just got back.
when i turn the key forward, almost every dummy lights comes on, the security is lit solid as well, once i start the car all the dummy lights, light back up, stay solid for a few seconds, and go out. the only light that blinks is the seat belt light.
you just may have a some kind of security issue.

What's the proper procedure to relearn the passlock? Also I've read a good amount of different ways to bypass the system but without spending $175 what is best route? DIY write up?
