Are the oil pans ZZP sell stock Dorman oil pans? And why do they state that a magnetic drain plug would not work with theirs?

The thread pitch/size is different from the plug they sell, I cannot answer the other part of your question though.

Ok. The reason i asked was because i wanted to replace my oil pan on my motor....but still debating if i should. It just has a small ding on the bottom right but everything else is still good. I was thinking i should just clean everything up and repaint it and change the gasket. Any suggestions?

Mine is smashed in on the bottom, I also was planning on replacing it, but then decided who cares. No one will ever see it, and it doesn't leak.

I have taken a 4x4 or other block of wood and pounded a pan or three out while they were off the engine. It's all good.

Yup mine is worse then that. No leaks so I won't bother going through the hassle of replacing it.

I dont think it requires RTV but i like putting a even amount of Black RTV on the gasket itself just make sure you clean the pan and block where the pan bolts up to well, clean all the oil and dirt of it just did mine last week.
