Having a little trouble removing this harmonic bolt from the engine on my engine stand. I have 2 vice grips on the flex plate flywheels that catches on to the End of the engine to stop the flex plate and balancer from spinning.

I also have a breaker bar but when I turn and put force on the breaker bar....I'm afraid the engine will break from the engine stand and the engine will fall if I put too much force I to it. Any advice and help would be greatly appreciated.

Put some muscle in it. It shouldn't break off the stand.

Brace the front of the motor so it not flexing when your trying to break the bolts loose.

Ok so tommorow ill try and hold or support the front end with either the engine hoist or something with equivalent height and see how that goes.

I also wanna paint the block RED!!!! Would caliper paint work well? I have about an entire can left over front when I did my calipers summer of last year.

I never noticed any difference between caliper paint and engine enamel I've used both on various things when I have a can left over.

Oh ok. Caliper paint seemed to last in my calipers for a while untill they started chipping which I think was due to the road and rocks.

I wish I could have told you to remove this bolt sooner! That was the worst part of my tear down... Now if I had a picture of what I did it would be worth a thousand words. As you said, when you torque it the engine stand wants to tip over, and believe me it will take a ton of force to break the bolt loose! I ghetto rigged the stand with 2x4's braced underneath the cradle that was right near the engine stand, then stood on the 2x4's and gave it all I had. Dont know if this makes any sense, but it is my best description of what I went through to get that bolt out! LOL

My heads and block also are going to be red (chevrolet Orange-red-DE1607) LIM, blower, etc will be aluminum colored paint...pulleys, fuel rails, and various other things, along with maybe my headers, will be painted black.
