Thread: Can't refuel

I was getting this problem ALOT in my impala a while back an di popped the hood and it turned out that the purge canister line attached to my TB was twisted and wasnt getting flow? i guess...I straightened it up and i was allowed to refuel again. Then a month ago i switched to a gen v and my gen v to n * adapter didnt have the nipple on the front so i left it unhooked and the car didnt let me fill up. So my guess is that purge canister lien that attaches to the small brass nipple on the front of your tb near the front valve cover.

...just the tip?

Already said inserting it partially fully upside down side to side all in the hips. Didn't work. Unhooked the evaporation line on the tb it let me fill up. I'll be looking into it later.

It's funny when people post that they have an issue. Yet..they dont' tell us what the car is or year etc.

Probably because I'm in the supercharged section and the evaporation system doesnt change much between the 97-03 to 04-08 or any gm vehicle really from the same time frame. When it's vehicle specific I'll be sure to post it.

I've already done what everyone has suggested and then some. I''ll have a few hours on Saturday to figure it out. I'll use a tech2 and Mitchell1 to getter done.

Almost makes you wonder if it's plugged up, somehow, which I feel should be really unlikely. Able to get a tube in there and siphon some out?

I bought the car it's been like this since got it a month ago. Car is parked in the garage anytime I'm home. Ill post back tomorrow after I get her figured out

We had a '99 Grand Am with this issue, and I just retracted the nozzle a bit and slowed down the flow of the pump. Had to find the sweet spot, much like other activities :P Couldn't just ram it in and go to town. Ok I'll stop now.

solutions are posted now its you guys job to get off your asses and do something instead of posting 100 times how do i fix this. The possibilities are here we cant fix it for you unless you bring the car to us. It can be multiple things, we cant see whats going on in your car over the internet.

Easy killer. He said he tried the things suggested thus far two posts back. Which is why he's getting weirdos posting about shoving things in his tank.

I changed my fuel cap because it looked beat... still had the problem so I replaced the vent solenoid/canister located by the fuel neck.. it was only $20 solved my issues.

Probably your filler neck. I had this issue on an old car and replacing that fixed it.

Yeah I pulled down the vent solenoid. And used my power probe to apply ground and power manually. It would work upside down but not in the right side up position likes its mounted. Gotta love dead spots. Thanks for the input from anyone with suggestions hopefully someone else with this problem has some info to go by while figuring it out. I had a Tech2 so it wasn't too difficult to see what wasn't working
