i just got a 04 compg with 90k on it a month ago. Since then i have gone threw it as much as i could. New tr55s, wires, mobil 1,sc oil, egr delete, tb maf and pcv cleaned, sd headers, cai, 180 tstat, sea foamed gas oil and vac lines and now tomarrow im changing my fuel filter cus i had to special order it. Under heavy acceleration it will just lose all power for a second or two then pick up and go.
Im hoping its just the fuel filter thats clogged or something and its getting a cutoff on gas for a second.

Edit: oh ya ive also flushed the **** out of the dexcool in there and put some green in

To me if the fuel filter was clogged, it wouldnt just stop for a second and then pick up and go, because it would be clogged the whole time.

ya well i did take it off to put a new one on but the parts store got me the one with the skinny and fatter inputs and i need the 2 fat inputs for mine, anyway i dumped it out and it was dirty. But what else could cause this there are no codes besides the obvious egr delete code and also i removed my cat for now until i get a chance to weld in my new on to the headers and no code has come up in like 300 miles

Well that wasnt it and it seems like its getting worse too. Tomarrow ima try the new filter and see what happens. If that doesnt resolve it ill start narrowing it down to maf ect.

well its running better but still doing it slightly, ima try d/c the maf and running it for a day and see if it does it but it only does it at wot so idk the tb is spotless and i cleaned as far into the sc as i could. What is the sensor coming off the back of the sc on an 04. Is it the tps? i didnt take this off to clean it

if its not the maf my next step i think ima pull the injectors off and clean them cus idk it kind of seems like it started when i ran seafoam threw it but could be coincidence or maby the seafoam did harm to my new plugs i put in so ill look into that too

    Any other ideas?

hmm i just read another post on how the same problem was traction controll kicking in at wot even if the tires wernt spinning so my question is. Is the tc on when the light is on or off cus the light is always off when i turn the car on so i assumed that meant it was off but then the light shows a line through it so does that meen off? lol if its this ill feel really stupid

well it did it with tc on and off but i did notice how tc reacts cus its slippery today, but is there a way to make it so tc doesnt turn on everytime i start my car its really anoying shutting it off. I decided i would try and clean the maf again and the wiring. Well i noticed like others that when i was trying to connect the wiring back it it was not fitting cus the stupid rubber piece so i tore that out also i notice that one of the spectra rubber ring things actually fell into the filer lol and was probly just getting thrown around in there(i feel dumb) idk how that happened but ya i could imagine that could throw things off due to the maf getting incorrect reading from it getting thrown around lol. but im not to sure if its actually fixed it doesnt seem its doing it like it was but i did get a slight delay at wot but nothing like befor ima bring it for another test drive and probly dc the maf if its still doing it

But i have another concern and its really worrying me. I was just sitting at my college waiting for my gf to get out and i starting hearing a weird like rubbing sound and could feel it throughout the entire car. Like a waooawoaaoooaowooaa sound lols. Im thinking its the tensioner cus i could hear a slight sound from it befor a clanking when i got the car and im thinking its finnally at that lockup point and needs to be replaced

90k is about right for pulley bearings to start locking up.
And for the lower motor mount to explode.
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

i changed out the bad pully and havnt heard the clicking or felt the rubbing, i also changed the belt and idk if this is why but my car seems to be hotter now(yes i put the pully on the right way) the belt did seem a tiny bit shorter and the pully a tiny bit bigger( its the pully in front of the tensioner) but i cant imagine it should matter. But i took a drive to my sisters after and i seem to have all my power back and everything seems good but after letting the car sit there while i was there for an hour i came back out and started it and the temp gauge went to half instantly and when i drove it went above and its never gone above half befor its always been right below even when pushing the **** out of it

its not hot out either its raining and ide say about 60

    OH.
90K is also about the right time for the fan relay to burn up and make the fans intermittent. Check the panel in the fusebox for burn marks. If you find them, all you have to do is clean them and you'll be good as new.

traction control is ON if the light is off. when you hit the button and the light comes on tc is now turned of, allowing you to spin the tires.

when you go wot (tc on) even if the wheels are slipping a bit the pcm pulls timing.

i notice quite a bit more power (feels that way) when i jump on it with no tc and perf shift on.

with the tc left on i see the low traction light flash even though it dont feel like the tires are breaking loose.

the only time i turn mine off is when i know im going to need all the power, or if its raining. rain is a instant traction control off. or snow.
