Thread: comp cam vs input/reviews?

when i get back from basic i plan on getting a cam setup, push rods/springs/retainers but want to know if the vs is good a mild to average cam? (pros and cons) thank you in advance

i've seen people push the VS just as far as the rest of the other cams. i don't see why it'd ever be a bad choice.

Is the VS all loud and lopey like the XP is? Or does it retain more of a stock exhaust sound?

Also, with the VS or any aftermarket cam... is the power difference throughout the whole rpm band?

Or is it like hv3 or headers where you'd only really see a difference higher in the rpms?

Vs is gears more toward the lower to mid upper range versus the xp which is more higher range. It's loopy of course but not easily noticeable like the xp. there is no substitute for the cam so headers wouldn't be a close comparison. I went the vs route since i plan on IC down the road and didn't want a real aggressive cam and wanted to keep it as DD friendly as I could.
