Lately I've had it happen 2 separate days where, driving with the motor what I would consider cool... Aeroforce said 140-150* ECT... I seem to be seeing crazy amounts of KR on light throttle.

Open cone on the MAF, plog, 3" catted dp... stock pulley, stock tune, constant 93 octane, stock plugs just changed last month.

First time I saw it, I pulled out from a stop sign, making a right getting on light throttle to flow with traffic at 35-40mph, flat, no hills. Happened to glance at the aeroforce and I saw 14* of KR going on, I thought wtf and let off the gas totally, coasted a little and then put the gas back on, KR went to 3*, then eased down to zero as I began to go downhill. Didnt come back and KR never ever goes above 3 when the motor is up to temp... 180*+.

Second time was almost the same, leaving work with ECT around 140-150*, leaving town speeding up from 25 to 45, flat with no hills... 13-14* of KR on the gauge. Let off the gas, continue on, and it doesnt come back, even when going uphill max KR I see is 3, maybe 3.5*... This never happens with engine at operating temp.

When I do hard throttle like 70-100% I only see 1-2* of KR, most of my KR is cruising and going uphill.

    Any ideas?

Possibly just an error? There's no way you should be seeing that much KR, if much at all. Highest I would expect for your setup is maybe 3*. You should be fine.

Most false KR is cause by engine noise or vibrations check your mounts for wear and engine for excessive movement while running by hand throttling/jossling it
I'm sorry officer I didnt know I couldn't do that

It sounds like false knock. 04 up are pretty well known for false KR.

Since you're getting so much out of the blue, you could try changing the knock sensors. One other thing I've heard makes a difference is moving the filter away from the MAF. Add a coupler and some PCV or aluminum tubing if you can.

I imagine it has nothing to do with the overly agressive spark tables or anything...

Same here on an 03 park ave. not even a blip at wot but part throttle is very strange sometimes, seemingly more when cruise control is set and I use the accel switch or give it gas. Hills are a major culprit and im never going less than 50mph when I see KR. I think it's the tune...

Some of you guys treat this KR thing like T-Stat discussions...lol.

Seen false knock before...it's called failed motor mounts...busted/non-flipped sway bars making contact with the exhaust or other components hitting once there is plenty of load on a motor...pisses off the knock sensors. Not creating that connection cured at least three cars I can think of off the top of my head.

But whoopeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, it doesn't have a small pulley...it'll probably live.

If not those things, then I'd look into TCC lockup like stated earlier...and TQ management.

if it's false from something hitting then the motor isn't pinging and it doesn't matter how much KR it's reading out.

But wouldnt false KR cause a big power reduction because of how much timing it's pulling, regardless of whether or not the motor is actually in danger?

Also, I got Will's tune this morning and threw it in, just got back from a good half hour drive around the back mountain roads and highways, looks like ALL KR is gone.. I went through the whole RPM band several times and I didnt see a single tenth of a degree of KR. Hope it stays that way.

I've had this happen to me also, usually when the car is in 3rd and I give it light throttle.
