So I have a 05 Impala SS an I just got done with a rebuild it spun a rod bearing cylinder #6 the engine only had 101000miles on its clock I bought the car from carmax in 09 ive owned it from 27,5xxmiles on the clock an im the second owner it come all stock not a mod on it ran perfect then around 80,xxxmiles the lim coolant elbows gave out so no big deal I replaced them an the second pair leaked so I put the aluminum lim gaskets an elbows of course then everything was fine until it spun a rod bearing at 101000miles right after i put on a front plog and rear ported stock manifold along with a 3" catless dp from zzp an it started knocking so I tore the motor down completely then found cylinder #6 rod bearings almost in pieces but still together the crankshaft was scourned all to hell along with the head im suprised #6 piston was not cracked, chipped, etc but I figured I did not catch the coolant leak my lim gaskets that failed looked horrible for cylinders 2,4,6 not a big suprise after thinking about it but my real question is with the rebuild the engine idles, cranks, boost, etc perfectly my aeroforce gauge shows -17.5-18.5 vacuum in drive and -19-20 in park which seems normally no vacuum leaks I even sprayed brake cleaner around all of my vacumm lines an what do you know no leaks not a misfire either. My mods are zzp stage 2 p&p heads, 105lb springs etc, plog, ported rear manifold, 3" catless dp, fwi, factory sc pulley, arp from bottom to top, clevite bearings mains & rods, new crankshaft, new l32 rods, new l67 pistons, everything for the rebuild oil pump, water pump, sensors, front & rear seals new timing chain and dampner . . . car runs fine sounds fine max psi is 6.5 which is low for the factory pulley but its a roots style blower so it boost higher numbers when theres more restriction so i know the m90 fine its brand new but thats not my concern everything seems fine no dtcs, etc but if I decide to take a left turn the engine slips out of gear the trans is filled with proper dextron etc when I replaced the trans filter and fluid before the rebuild the pan was clean along with the magnet when I drive around the trans is smooth under light and heavy throttle but left hand turns are out of the question it doesnt stall but it just jumps out of gear and if I want to take a right everthings fine no slip nothing just you going smooth through a right hand turn at any speed I want then the dreaded left hand turns just slip out of gear . . . any help

Though I can turn the wheel all the way left at a complete stop before I make the left hand turn an it will turn an not slip but if I start out straight an decide to start turning the wheel left really sharp it will slip out of gear. . . its really wierd all fluids etc sensors all seem fine no dtcs at all Al606 gapped at .60 since my m90 has its factory pulley I was not told to drop heat ranges in sparkplugs until I drop sc pulley sizes, cars still fun to drive noticable difference with the heads an exhaust manifolds, dp etc but I dont wanna get killed taking a left hand turn an I know the engine harness is grounded from the bell housing to the 1 ground by coils. Any help. . . do I need to scan with my hpt an look for flaws in my tables though I am not a expert tuning/mechanic everything seems peachy perfect besides the left hand turns should I put the 180* thermostat an tune the coolant fan tables or thats not it???

Tough to read without any capitalization or punctuation. Not saying impossible, bud damn man.. it was rough on the eyes.

I think what you are experiencing is the starvation that can happen on left turns. intense-Racing would recommend adding a pint of fluid above the top fill mark on the dipstick to help with that.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Sorry about that it was pretty bad, and thank you for the quick response. So just add another qt or half of trans fluid an see what happens bill? Also i`ve noticed that when im cruising at 30mph around 1300-1500rpms when I decided to hit it WOT the car seems not to want to hold it an keep going with all its might . . . ex: it boost 6.5lbs and gets 8lbs at the shift? Yes it seems normal I guess, but before the rebuild the stock engine seemed to just jump an hold boost like it had more power. And with the newer stronger engine when I try to boost hard in these low rpms and gear(s), their is no shift problem not running wierd rpms no wierd oil pressure etc. To me it just seems to lack power when it should be a little bit stronger. Almost like boost is backing down .5-1lbs, when I go WOT around 30mph at 1300-1500rpms. This might help I dont hear my fwi until around 3000rpms, which is around 1-2lbs of boost not heavy throttle but medium I would say. Though before my rebuild I nearly heard the intake an sc whine over everything from 1800-xxxxrpms . . . could it be my zzp stage 2 p&P heads? It seems like i`ve lost the sc whine unless I go right before WOT or WOT. Ex: rolling 10mph bring it up to 2500-3000rpms and stay around that throttle % to hear the fwi. My TPS reads 4.1-4.2 volts at 99% seems to be working fine IAC is fine etc. Guess I need to get a ohm or voltmeter an start probing my engine harness. Is this bad my aeroforce gauge shows battery 13.4-13.8volts after the car is warmed up seems low, altenator getting weak? Thanks for all the help bill!

Yep, half a quart should do it. Don't stick a full one it or it will foam and that's not good on the trans.

It seems to be fine max psi is 6.5 under WOT and 8lbs at each shift. Seems the plog, rear pem, and 3" catless dp dropped all the restriction and it lost 1lb of boost seems normal. Car seems happier under WOT with the extra trans fluid also. Its got the factory pulley on the sc. Aeroforce shows no misfires, dtc`s, no kr. I think its the heads, not in a bad way though.

Thanks I love the body on the Impala SS but the color is the best its Lazer Blue looks amazing on sunny days. I get questions from older people all the time, my favorite people ive gotten complements from are 2 Regal GNX owners hands down when I pulled up next to a mildly modded 1987 GNX at a red light and he looks at me and says now that looks like something I want . . . I smiled from ear to ear and said we can trade but I already knew the answer he laughed and loved the SS! But shes always turning heads.
