I ordered the zzp350 fuel pump with venturi option according to their website said i needed that option. i have a 2000 gtp, now first i had the small venturi line with really no place for it to go so im not sure which is correct cuz wbodystore says that for a 2000 u dont need it, but zzp says ido.

im lost the pump looks retarded in the canister my car dies when braking hard and it runs super lean shortly after WOT. before someone askes yes i have a hotwire kit. i also noticed when i turn the key on and it primes it doesnt hold pressure. i dont know if i got a bad pump, or wrong pump or what. at idle it bounces around 40psi when i rev it up sitting still it goes up to about 50.

im in a bad way as its my daily im hoping someone can shed some light on what could be wrong.

    Fail.

You have a non venturi bucket.. and you need a venturi bucket to run a venturi pump.

No the previous owner replaced it with a stock replacement...

All replacements are non venturi. You are gonna **** **** up if you keep that pump.
It's gonna die on you completely in a couple days.

What are your mods? I doubt you need that big of pump.. Not even a 400 some wheel horse car needs that

I kno i coulda got away with prolly a stock replacement and rewire. But ive always been almost maxxed out on my injectors and figured that ill just go big and not worry about it. Im heading to the self service lkq and ill pick up a venturi canister for like 8 bucks

I'd try and get a new pump, you've done damage to that one and it's not gonna stay good or get better.

Fuel pumps need fuel to keep them lubricated..

And it being a venturi pump, really warrants the imminent failure of it soon enough.

Plus, there is probably a pressure leak somewhere in the main feed line on top of the pump to the top of the canister.

I was just curious because i got some answers from them about the function of the pump. They are willing to swap it for me but should i have the swap it for non venturi so it will fit the replacement basket i got or just get another venturi and get a venturi basket from the junkyard

Okay.. If they are cool about it, then have them send you a non venturi.

I'm glad they are being understanding about the matter and that's very kind of them.

A non venturi is easier to work with and one less line to worry about in the event of a failure.

Not all 2K's were built the same. I was going to preorder a pump when I was getting the current 2000. Was told, that it could be one of two pumps. I think 2000 was the change over and you should check the tag to ensure which pump you have.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Yes i went through that whole.junkyard pulled prolly 10 canisters one was actually from another 00 gtp and it was a regular non venturi.

But on a side notr i found the one and only venturi style canister in the whole place. And it worka perfect holds pressure, starts perfect, doesnt run dry no issues here. (except running pig rich with my tune)

Hopefully it stays that way. I'd check the pressure again in a week
