I bought a 98 gtp , gonna swap the motor and transmission into my 97 gt , the 98 has a blown transmission, and the t60 in mine is slipping , so gonna buy a reman transmission from napa since I get a great deal working at a shop . Now is it a 65 or 65hd ? I'm thinking itshould be the hd ? Any thoughts or ideas?? Btw the motor has some goodies on it , headers ,smaller pulley on the sc , oversized injectors , and was rebuilt about 30k ago . The reason for putting the sc motor in my car is mine is in much better shape

Just because its got "goodies", dont mean they are done right and motor is running good. I bet its just tossed together because owner before thought he knew whats best for the motor.

You need to use the GTP wire harness and the trans must be a 4T65E HD.

How is that going to help?

Either is going to run or its going to start knocking. Cracking open the bottem end is only asking for a problem.

And what I meant by having the motor run right, is the mods that are on it, just because its on there, dont mean the car is running well with them.

Gotta clarify Cam. I thought ... is he talking about when I read that.

OP.. You should be able to swap the GTP harness onto teh GT. Use the 98 harness and pcm. Then have someone with DHP change the vin for you if you have state inspections.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
