Re: Super cheap intercooler build. Running total $0
yeah.
google spectra radiators, then go to their site and lookup a 92 golf with AC/HD cooling. it'll tell you the specs.
lookup TDC racing and search for threads started by him, he explains how he mounted his golf rad.
bosch pump came on many cars with factory intercoolers.
Namely cars you'll never find in the wreckers.
Re: Super cheap intercooler build. Running total $0
I looked him up and searched through 7 pages of threads but didn't see anything about a golf rad. :(
Re: Super cheap intercooler build. Running total $0
Re: Super cheap intercooler build. Running total $0
I read that but it didn't say anything about a golf rad. I'll go jy hunting this weekend sometime if the wife allows it lol
Re: Super cheap intercooler build. Running total $0
the pics are gone....booooo.
Re: Super cheap intercooler build. Running total $0
26.63"x12.63"x1.25" core
1.25 inlet & outlet size
So I would need reducers to make it fit the hose from the ic right?
Re: Super cheap intercooler build. Running total $0
iirc, he had the fittings on the inlet and out lets of the rad that he plumbed to the lines to the core.
it was a sharp looking install.
Re: Super cheap intercooler build. Running total $0
Hopefully mine turns out the same lol
Re: Super cheap intercooler build. Running total $0
Buying a pump very soon and I think I found a golf rad at the jy i commonly go to. Probably only be about $15-$20 :D Then all i have to do is buy hose and make gaskets up.
Re: Super cheap intercooler build. Running total $0
gaskets are RTV.
or bills legendary permatex 26B which is supposedly red high temp rtv.
Re: Super cheap intercooler build. Running total $0
Well thats cheaper than making gaskets lol. Yay cheap stuff
Re: Super cheap intercooler build. Running total $0
I'm getting a fmhe and pump for $125 shipped so i'll add that to the total once i pay. Then all I need is hoses and I have to figure something out for the fuel rails.
Re: Super cheap intercooler build. Running total $125
FMHE and pump will be getting shipped to me soon :D Anyone have any suggestions for super cheap fuel rails?

I know they aren't needed anymore but after a little playing (learned how to properly navigate PhotoBucket after getting lost in BillBoost's for 3 days) I found these. Not the best but some of his shots from the GP Intercooler Install among the 4 pages of old cars

Too much caring.
We used brake booster hose and clamped it on Jarred's car too...along with the fitting hose clamps under the snout for the cooler lines.
Fire hazard?
Sure, but that's what insurance is for and he never had any fueling problems :)
Re: Super cheap intercooler build. Running total $125
Can't wait to see this setup finished. Stuff will be shipped out 2moro after work. BTW, are you gonna use RTV instead of Garleaks? I know I did, lol.
Re: Super cheap intercooler build. Running total $125
Undecided on gasket right now. Cutting fuel rail and double clamping has worked for over a year by my fuel filter so i may go that route.
