Ok so i just got a 04 compg and when i got it from the dealer i went threw a few things.

    1) i noticed the oil was 1-2 quartz overfilled (they did say to bring it back to have oil pan bolts done) but that doesnt explain to me why they would overfill it with oil thats just stupid.
    2) i noticed the coolant was ****ty (dexcool) and alot of sand and gunk build up, so i had this adressed and they tested it fine to zero but still i meen as dirty as it looked idc how good it still is i want it clean (flushing and going green tomarrow and 180 tstat)
    3) ac was ice cold when i got it, 2 days later warm,i told them and all they did was recharge it and ya it was cold again untill i noticed it leaking and comeone now ya coolant does get warm after awhile but not 2 days this is just an obvious sign of leak
    4) my temp gauge seems fine(stays at half) but when i open the hood it is HOT like everything to my front bumper/entire engine bay is hot and stays hot for hours after i shut it off so im thinking it does need flushing and maby the gauge is off cus fans have kicked on befor and if im correct dont they not kick on till about 227 and the half way mark is 205?
    5) rear roters and brakes needed to be done but i also told them front too and they said they looked at front and they are fine but i felt the inside of the rotors and there is a center groove

Seems to me like the dealership is half assing **** and full of ****ing retards and think that i am just another smuck thats not going to pay attention to this ****. Btw the dealer is Bertera Chevrolet

lim gasket is super easy to do if you can turn a wrench.

No need for the 180 tstat. Fans come on at 214 and 228 IIRC.

And yes the motor is always going to feel hot when you open the hood, its twice your body temp and is going to stay hot anywhere from 6-8 hours after shut off.

I'd do a full system flush x3 to get all the crap out and refill with new coolant and stock thermo and bleed the system.

Even if you used the 180, the car is still going to run around 190 and still hit 210+ in traffic, and thats not even hot, hot is 245+

but there is need this car is not staying stock
i realise the tstat isnt going to magically make it run cooler lol but might as well do it while im there
but the hot im referring to is not normal engine hot like EVERYTHING i burning hot to the touch 2 hours after the car is shut off even the body of the car, just seems way hotter than my 2000 gtp, but anyway going green gonna flush like 4-5 times lol just incase

I've seen some go around 60k and some last to 240k its pretty much dependant on the coolant flushes I think.

LOL, cracks me up. You screwed up IMO. Especially at Bertera.. never pick up and pay for a car until all the issues you want addressed are fixed. So now you are just at the mercy of the used car monkey in the service area.

Plastic gaskets will last until you decide to go in, from my experience. Typically they dont' cause a major problem. However the car will likely run better with good sealing gaskets in it.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
