since I have put headers on my 06 gt I have noticed that under light load my coolant temp sometimes reaches 205 I do have the wonderful flex pipe tick am I over reacting or should I not worry. my fuel trims pretty good.

try wrapping any exposed brass part of the coolant temp sensor with teflon tape/high temp tape, i feel like the excessive underhood temps heat soak the sensor. worth a try. let me know if it works for you.

205 ok imo. I start worrying about 212 and up if just cruising on the highway.

i think what he is getting at is, he has a 180 tstat and more than likely has fans programmed to turn on at 180-185, temps in the 200s would upset me too.

Well a good place to start is drain and flush your coolant. Refill and see if it still does it.

ok I wrapped the temp sensor and the crossover pipe. neither did much to lower temps. I flushed my cooling system bled all air still same problem. thinking about this it all started when I put the headers on now I'm wondering if I am running lean. my fuel trims have been pretty good useually + or - 2 to 5 sometimes more but not for long.and I have no knock and i also replaced a broken coolant elbow. this has me stumped anybody got any other ideas?
