So I was thinking about getting new mufflers for my GTP, Ive been on here for a while and known ever since I owned my GP its hard to get a 3800 to sound good and its damn near impossible lol. I herd some people giving good reviews about Borla and I think if i did get new mufflers thats what Id go with, its the only style muffler I heard good reviews about for the 3800. Im only thinking about putting a set of mufflers in because the guy I work with (also a good friend) is a welder and he loves doing exhaust systems. He redid my exhaust for me a little while back, we just threw in a thrush glasspack and stock mufflers my old exhaust was shot. He says it need to be beefed up a bit and I agree, I told him there isnt a way to make a 6 cyl sound good he agreed but said we could try and make it sound better, do some research. So thats what I have been doing and im not gonna go drop 1000 on a cat back for my GP Im not that crazy lol. So I found Borla mufflers on eBay, they are 2.25". so would fit the GP and I just have to pay for the cost of the muffler and maybe some piping everything else is free for me so it might be worth a shot!
so should I go with a Turbo style muffler if I do this? I heard thats a better option for the GP
BORLA Turbo Exhaust Muffler 2.25'' X 13'' Center/Center | eBay
the Pro XS style?
Borla Muffler Pro XS 2.25" Center Inlet/2.25" Center Outlet Stainless Universal 808422403634 | eBay
or this style?
Borla 40981 Universal Performance Muffler Oval 2.25" Inlet Stainless Steel | eBay
This is my exhaust now i think it sounds pretty good but want to try something different.
Im not going to be doing this tomorrow or anything maybe in a couple weeks or months, I just wanna get some ideas for now
Anyone who has/had Borla give me some feedback! is it raspy at high RPM ( i would assume yes they all are lol) if so how much?
Is the Drone bad? Is it loud? Annoying? etc..
Again im not expecting a v8 sound just an upgrade with out making a mistake.
Everyone's welcome to give there opinion on what they think i should do
Thanks,
Eddie
