So I was thinking about getting new mufflers for my GTP, Ive been on here for a while and known ever since I owned my GP its hard to get a 3800 to sound good and its damn near impossible lol. I herd some people giving good reviews about Borla and I think if i did get new mufflers thats what Id go with, its the only style muffler I heard good reviews about for the 3800. Im only thinking about putting a set of mufflers in because the guy I work with (also a good friend) is a welder and he loves doing exhaust systems. He redid my exhaust for me a little while back, we just threw in a thrush glasspack and stock mufflers my old exhaust was shot. He says it need to be beefed up a bit and I agree, I told him there isnt a way to make a 6 cyl sound good he agreed but said we could try and make it sound better, do some research. So thats what I have been doing and im not gonna go drop 1000 on a cat back for my GP Im not that crazy lol. So I found Borla mufflers on eBay, they are 2.25". so would fit the GP and I just have to pay for the cost of the muffler and maybe some piping everything else is free for me so it might be worth a shot!

so should I go with a Turbo style muffler if I do this? I heard thats a better option for the GP

    BORLA Turbo Exhaust Muffler 2.25'' X 13'' Center/Center | eBay

    the Pro XS style?

Borla Muffler Pro XS 2.25" Center Inlet/2.25" Center Outlet Stainless Universal 808422403634 | eBay

    or this style?

Borla 40981 Universal Performance Muffler Oval 2.25" Inlet Stainless Steel | eBay

This is my exhaust now i think it sounds pretty good but want to try something different.

Im not going to be doing this tomorrow or anything maybe in a couple weeks or months, I just wanna get some ideas for now

Anyone who has/had Borla give me some feedback! is it raspy at high RPM ( i would assume yes they all are lol) if so how much?

Is the Drone bad? Is it loud? Annoying? etc..

Again im not expecting a v8 sound just an upgrade with out making a mistake.

Everyone's welcome to give there opinion on what they think i should do

    Thanks,

    Eddie

those are pretty pricey, Magnaflows cost half that. And I think they sound alright. Theres a really good youtube video of a silver GT with magnaflows. My friends monte also has them and i think they sound pretty good.

Wicked Nicky's Exhaust me later. Yes magnaflows are cheaper compared to Borla but Borlas blows them out the water on our cars. Do it right the first time. I have the Xs pro....stock resonator..no drone. When I attend Gp meets I only get compliments on how good the exhaust sounds. One of this days after I finish installing these headers and cam i'll get a youtube clip up.

Total worth the money. So many gp I hear sound like ass and drone a lot. Magnaflow-raspy. SLP-Is decent to loud for my taste. Zzp/flowmaster-you'll need earplugs. Thrush-cheap for a reason doesn't even sound like there's a exhaust there oh and btw you need to get some comp g wheels and paint them white

I dont even know why i posted that video, because i dont think youtube videos give exhaust notes justice, especially with crappy mics. if you like borlas in person, get them.

I have an SLP catback exhaust and don't think it's loud at all. I kind of wish it was louder...

I personally want to put Pypes Drag mufflers on my car. I've heard them on a GP with no res and I thought they sounded fantastic, had more of a deep throaty sound, sounded great in the car as well, though we did not go wot.
But who knows when I'll be able to do that. I have no vid for it and I can't find anything about a GP with them...but I've seen it.

    Brandon, you dummy.

Anything 3800 without a resonator sounds like dog squirts unless it has a turblow.

For these, if you have a failbook...you can add me to watch if need be.

Those were all with the Thrasher cam and a 3" mandrel bund and dump...catless headers, and a long glasspack was all I had at that time.

Then prior to all that mess, I had catless pacesetters, custom 3" with a stock resonator and Flow 40's...

After I was tired of the dumped setup...because I had to drive with the windows down and it got cold, lol...I did a full 3" again with the long glasspack, no cat, and a universal bullet style proflow before the "Y"...

I like my Dynomax mufflers Sound great on a cold start and once warmed up you don't hear them till you're at WOT.

A video before the top swap. They got a bit more raspy after I put the headers on and got rid of that cat but I plan on fixing that with a glass pack in place of the factory cat.
