The car is a 97. The problem: When I start the car it idles kinda rough. I would say the RPMs fluctuate around 600-900. It does not do this all the time. The LTFT stays at +16 when this occurs. STFT fluctuates from +16-20. During driving I have no problems. The STFT and LTFT lock in at 0. When driving and I let off the throttle the LTFT goes straight to +16 as well. I don'y know if this is normal though. I have checked the vacuum lines over. I hear a light sucking noise around the front underside of the SC nose. Checked that line it's free of cracks. Then I spoke with J. Vriezema he said to unplug the MAF to see if it idled normal. Well it did. So I'm not necessarily sure if that the problem though since it does not do it all the time. Also no codes are going off. I checked for exhaust leaks and do not hear any. So this is where y'all come in. Ideas?

I need some MAF cleaner cause I'm guessing carb cleaner would not work. It did not look dirty when I pulled it out, not that this means it couldn't use a little cleaner. The p0102 came on, but I had unplugged the MAF.

Cleaned the MAF and it has not done it yet, but like I said it does not always happen. I will check back in if it does it and we can go from there.

It's doing it again. I hooked a real good vac gauge up. It kept fluctuating from 16-20, but when I unplugged the MAF it stayed perfectly at 20 and idled normal. I just want to be positive it is the MAF before I drop the money on one. Any input bluegtp91 or Billboost?

it dont need to come off a s/c engine. mine came off a park ave with a n/a motor.

all you need to do is match the part # on the top of your maf, to the new/used one at the yard.

our mafs are in a lot of Gm cars.
