Ok so ever since I've owned my gtp it take a few cranks to start, usually I'll have to prime it a couple times and it's fine, it's basically losing its fuel pressure, if i try to punch it or race it just studders a whole lot, did the plugs a while back. I was told the "fuel pressure regulator" so I changed that and nothing changed, someone said it can only be that or the fuel pump itself so I changed the pump and still no change, any idea what else could be my issue?

No I didn't cause I didn't think that had anything to do with pressure loss

if ur fuel filter is dirty, how is the gas going to go through?

Always replace first - its cheap

    Ill bet its the problem.

Your fuel is bleeding back into the tank after the car sits for a while.

I always think about those of us who dont have a fuel filter, just a strainer in the tank... is it worth it to pull the pump just to replace that strainer? I would imagine that could get cloggy too..?

I understand that but when I'm driving it's fine only when i punch it does it hesitate (which can be the filter) BUT a filter has nothing to do with the pressure bleeding back correct? I was told only the pump and regulator deal with that, both of which I've changed . Thanks

But can either one of those make my car lose fuel pressure?

*BUMP* Checked the Fuel pressure, and according to the gauge it's reading almost 50lbs when running (im not sure if that's normal) And once shut off the pressure is gone.. how can it be losing pressure that fast and not effect driving? The car doesn't even studder anymore just the starting issue. Please help

    What year is the car?

I think 04+ have regulator and check valve in the tank. They also have no return system.
Up to 03 have a return system with the regulator at the rail.

When you replaced the pump was it just the pump or the entire canister that you changed?

to make fster starting with the problem - turn the ignition to on and wait a few seconds, then to off, and then back to on for a few seconds and then start, that should pressure up the fuel injectors.

As rico said sounds like the regulator, check it or have it checked.

Rico says 2003 and before the regulator is on the fuel rail, and if its leeting all the pressure go, then it wont have enough pressure for driving.

The fuel pressure should stay even when not runing for atleast 10 min, if not more.

    is the car supercharged?

if it is - it will be effected more.

I've changed the regulator on the rail by the supercharger, didn't fix anything.

    No, not the regulator.

    Pump primes and builds pressure.
Check valve prevents fuel from flowing backwards into the tank.
