I was messing around with my car the other day and i wanted to just take some stuff off and see how it works. well i had taken off all of the intake and i was going to remove the throttle body and some fluid shot out so i quickly tightened it back up. what was it that came out? the only thing i could think of is supercharger oil, but I'm not sure, the fluid was clear. any ideas? thanks

You do realize that some things like gaskets can only be used once, right? So, when you get ready to take stuff apart, make sure you have new gaskets ready.
Also, you should make sure you have some sort of tech data (Hayne's, Chilton, Helms, something) if you're going to go digging in to your car. There are proper torque values that stuff like the nuts you took off the TB studs should be set to.

Seeing how it's the proper way to work on the car, yes.

It's coolant that came out of the TB.

The LIM and S/C should be torque for sure, I always do. The TB, I don't because for one those studs tend to pull out the threads out the S/C case easily and two with my setup no coolant flows to the TB. Only thing I have to worry about there is vacuum leaks. Now if you have coolant running through it, i'd probably torque it too, yes...

eh. im an oldschool mechanic type. i reuse bolts that are TTY and everything.

you just have to know what youre doing. anything important i torque. in fact, i torque to what i think they should be. my heads are at 90 ft/lbs, not 70 or 75 like the specs read.

you dont need to follow all the rules as long as youre doing it right.

And you know better than the people who designed it why? Just curious.

did say i do. you can only put an engine together one way. if it works, it works. if it's not together right, it doesnt work.
