Motor made weird knocking sound today after drove up road and came back out to start it. Well thought could be supercharger so pulled the belt. Still does it. It almost kinda goes away when accelerate a little, but very noticable when at idle. I figure I'm going just have the motor built. What pistons, crank, cam, etc, you all recommend I want it to run GOOD, but be VERY reliable. lol... I know right. I just really don't feel like dealing with hastle of putting used engine in and something going wrong with it all the time. But if someone has one setup ready go etc hit me up with details. Thanks, and where should I be looking for all my parts?

Also what motors will go in my car it's 00 gtp and can I drop a newer one from like an 08 etc some how? Didn't figure it should be that bad and doable

If it was flex plate wouldn't it sound from the rear of the motor? But when you go to crank it up is when it sounds the worst.

What flex plate do you all recommend? I just got back home and have a place to work on the car so I'm going make sure it's that. Also if it ain't what motor and tranny combinations can i go with? What years and cars????

If it is the motor just pick up a stock low milage one, 98-03 preferably, can't beat it for the $300 or so they are and they didn't get the ****ty rods.
