Correct me if I'm wrong, doesn't egr also help reduce knock?

Pretty sure it does, it reduces nox and lowers combustion chamber temps.

By pumping dirty exhaust gasses into your engine and eventually clogging things up and causing more trouble than it's worth.
You'd be better off with a meth or water injection if your concerned about that.
it MIGHT help for cruising knock (which can be fixed easily with a tune with or without an EGR) but its not gonna help with knock because the valve is closed when most have knock issues anyway...Quote:
