Now I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Daytona 500 Edition and it requires a Premium 93 octane fuel. Right now where I live Premium is over $4 a gallon, I was wondering if it would hurt the car much if I put regular in?

use 93, or buy a new engine later. the 3 or 4 bucks extra a tank full not going to kill you. and your car will feel weak on 87. you can use 91 but 93 is better.
i wish i had a sunoco by me still, they had the highest octane under the sun lol that was the tag line. they had 96 i think years ago.
if your running 87 and beating on it you have a good chance of doing some major damage.
this add says 94 but i think they went higher.
Sell gtp. Get gt.
gtp = premium no matter what usually... get away with the low on a road trip for all highway or something but thats about it...
this is a good site to find the best price in you area. GasBuddy.com - Find Low Gas Prices in the USA and Canada
Have you done the math at all?
Lets assume 87 is 3.83 and 93 is 4.03 for your area since you didn't specify.
If you are completely empty it will cost 65.11 to fill your tank with 87.
If you are completely empty it will cost 68.51 to fill your tank with 93.
Can you seriously not afford $3 more a tank? If you can't sell your car now and buy another one.
I could also mention you will likely get less mileage on 87 since your ECU is going to be pulling timing, so that "savings" you think you are getting will be long gone when you get 3-5 less mpg on a tank.
put 93 in it. weve all been at the pump with these cars and thought it wont hurt just to put some regular in this one time to save some money....guess what it does!! if you can feel the difference you know somethings wrong if you look at a scan tool with low grade gas youll cry. like stealthee said it costs almost nothing to just fill up on 93 in the long run
i haven't run reg in my car since ANY upgrade. but when i did run reg in it, i had to put a motor in it.....related? who knows.
buy a kia. 40 to fill it for the month, **** put 20 in gas and pour the rest water....its a kia
or you could buy a honda with those you could spit in the gas tank and itll run on it
just wondering guys, i have a gtp and i believe it recomends 92 octane? i only have access to 91 or 94 here. which would u recomend? ive pretty much been doing 91 in winter 94 in summer
