Hmm, that looks odd. Looks like LIM sludge crap but you just had those done. And it wouldn't be coming from under the blower. Maybe it's just spilled something??
didnt your uncle do the gasket replacement for you? and check your S/C oild just in case, i know it doesn't look like S/C oil but if the removed the snout sometimes they dont seal back up that great if no RTV is used because there is no gasket for it. i also agree with what Dan said if them 2 O-rings were not replaced with the upper plenum gasket they will leak because sometimes them gaskets dont come with them. i ordered one from ZZP and they did not send me the 2 O-rings with it and i had to go buy another gasket from autozone.
Like Jordo said.
We figured this out in the chatbox...
And you still made a thread about it?
Awesome.
Well please share with the forum what y'all figured it out to be? I wasn't in chat at the time.
Under the sc there is 2 little orange o rings that need replaced. They probably weren't and now it's leaking.
how can that not be coolant? its green, isn't it?
the only fluids in your car are coolant, oil or sc oil, 2 of those are black, if you have green coolant thats whats leaking.
the way i see it is if its leaking around the base of the s/c, it has to be coolant, theres no other fluid there, except sc oil, and you would have ran out already. and engine oil dont get into that area at all.
your not loosing coolant?
print this write up out, and ask the dealer to do this for you because they dont know how to use O rings right lol http://www.grandprixforums.net/how-mod-lim-46931.html i dont really thing they will do it, im kidding...but you can see what the problem maybe in that thread.
those 2 holes that bill is taping and sealing shut are your leak source most likely.
Hmm... iirc the o-rings are on the driver side of the s/c and the pics you have are from the passenger side. Is the fluid all around it? I agree with them on the o-ring bit. Very possible.
Did you smell the fluid? Of course its gonna taste like crap, it's automotive fluid. Don't rule out coolant. Remember GM dex-cool is orange, and if someone put an all make all model coolant it will be yellow, or if they put green, well you should know your color combos. I would not rule out coolant at all. S/C oil would have a distinct smell and texture. Engine oil is darker than that and thicker. So what other fluid could it be?![]()
Can't see how S/C fluid would turn that colour.
I'll buy your old supercharger off you.
Since when are superchargers $1500+? You do realize you can buy a used gen 5 on the forum and a new gasket for around $3-400 and replace it, right? You really should stop going wherever you go to get your car fixed, it sounds like they are just taking you for a ride..
Also, all seals on a supercharger can be replaced for pretty cheap. I really don't understand why you need to get a new supercharger when it is pretty clear that it is just leaking out of the two coolant passages. Whoever installed it probably didn't put new O-rings in and it's causing a leak. Also, it has to be coolant. It's not engine oil, and you'd know if it was SC oil - It'd smell like ass.
