im not mentally retarted and realize i need my catalytic convertor. i just got my speed daddy header setup and the section (that should be my cat) they sent a straight pipe. i am guessing they give you this section to get by. how long till i have issues with just running the straight insert as opposed to the cat?

you dont need a cat unless you have emissions testing in your state, if you have a 97-00 then you can put an O2 sim on your downstream o2 and have no problems if you have a 01+ then you need a tune

my emission testing just involves the obd2 test, this is not going to kick off a check engine light?

97 gtp, just got done pulling my old setup off. took about 3 1/2 hrs. wasn't hard at all, would have gone faster if i wasn't overly cautious with the bolts.

what is the downfall of not wrapping the crossover, aside from hotter intake air?

To me its not worth it to wrap headers on these cars, they heat soak fast and the blower heats the air up anyway.

    So, i'd just leave it.

O2 sim or have it tuned out, or put a cheap high flow in place.

even the high flow cats can set a light, it did for me when i had a 3" dp. i had no problems passing the obd test with the o2 sim and i have no problems now with it tuned out.
