Just wanted to start a log of everything for my top swap.
Blower Gen V 30k on it
Heads L67 with 105# springs 3k on those
Stock L26 Bottom 63k on that.

I am keeping the stock pulley on the blower for bottom end safety.
I will have a FWI, PLOG going to drill my 180 tstat myself, full exhaust(ish)

Here is a picture of it, lucky for me my best friend is a welder by hobby and is pretty damn good at it. This picture is from 2008ish when we first did it. The mufflers rusted out and I got a set of free replacements. So while the exhaust is off during the top swap we are going to make our own U bend delete and weld on the new mufflers. I wanted to get a ZZP DP but talked myself out of it as I want to get headers in the fall and not too sure what to do there yet.

I have all the parts now, the valve covers and Boost Control Solenoid pigtail should be at my doorstep when I get home. I am going to post what weird things I had to do on the swap as I can't find many 04+ write-ups but mostly, how to wire in the BCS pigtail which I cant seem to freaking find any where for 04+ I plan on starting this next Friday and Saturday.

I'm going to laugh if you run the top swap without headers.

    Seriously, it's a NEED...not a...meh, I'll get to it later.

To add, '04+ guys didn't even have a u-bend from the factory...not sure what you're talking about there either.

Trust me you HAVE to have headers, i did that meh ill get it later and i ended up with a chipped piston and other things. And as for the harness u have to tap into a pink wire (Which is a ignition switch power) and the other wire is black and that goes to your pcm, im not sure when Pin number it is ill do some research and find out. Im looking at you super charger gasket and im not sure that is the right one for the Gen V the one i had was a fiber one with the o rings in the gasket and the other one which was a metal one.

What tune were you running when this happened? did you have stock mufflers and cat? Stock pulley? What type of intake CAI/FWI? running 93 octane? Sorry with all the questions just curious. In June I will buy a set of pacesetters and try to sell the PLOG to offset the cost but until then I just will let the car sit in the driveway. Not worth letting it blow up. When I get home tonight I will line up the SC and gasket to check, If not ill just send it back to ZZP with the LIM core and go to napa. For your injectors what did you use? I bought L67 injectors and the wire adapters everyone told me I will need.

    1. I Run custom tunes from help with other members
    2. I had all stock exhaust except for muffler delete (sounds like **** no longer have that)
    3. Stock Pulley
    4. I have a Wizaird FWI
    5. I always run 91 or higher
    6. Injectors u will need the L32 injectors that came with the 04+ GTP grand prix (other wise u have to splice in different connectors)

The reason u HAVE to have headers is because the L26 block (N/A) it has a higher comperssion ratio than L32 Block (S/C) So that being said u have more heat and need to get that out and the Stock manifold do not allow that. I had a chipped piston on the front right and front left.

You can get a set of Speed daddyheaders off ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/STAINLESS-SS...602f2a&vxp=mtr

18 minutes ago: bluegtp91 tells guy to buy cheaper headers

13 minutes ago: miker56 tries to take credit for it

    You funny gai.

And you don't get "different gaskets"...you use the factory metal ones...you just need to clean them up and wipe them off...re-useable metal gaskets are nice.

You can also put together the entire kit from SSAC or speed daddy with what they provide.

When I bought the ported ZZP LIM they sold me a gasket without those cut outs as the LIM has them plugged. I can take a picture if you want. Right now they are pieced together in my basement. as for my tune I sent my PCM back to ZZP for a top swap tune and will take my car to Race Proven Motorsports in Delaware. $450 for a dyno tune

After it wouldn't start yesterday with the top swap tune from ZZP (I figured it wouldn't) I packed all the parts into it and got it towed to the garage where we will be working on it. Starting tomorrow at 9am. Ill take lots of pictures and a first start video.

Please..follow my "Easy" header install thread and don't use RTV. Reuse your stock head gaskets for the headers. You'll be much happier.

enjoy and know that ZZP often sends the wrong tunes to top swap guys. I've been on the phone for a lot of cursing when someone reads the pcm to find out it's for the totally wrong vehicle.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
