Curiosity finally got the best of me and I picked up a set of E3 plugs the other day. My cost from work was only ~$5/plug, so I thought I'd see how they work in a non-stock 3800. Start-up and idle were smooth. It free-revved easily, and my AFR's looked alright.

On the test drive, however, it would misfire, cut out, and almost die anytime I put a moderate load on the car. ?!?!?! I drove the car for the rest of the day like this. Last night, I pulled them out. 2 of them had a fair amount of soot/fuel-fouling, while the other 4 looked like almost-new plugs. I can only assume the 2 dirty ones were not firing properly... Oh well. At least I gave them a shot. Maybe they would be alright if all 6 fired the same, but this particular set did not leave me wanting to try them again anytime soon.

A new set of AC's, and the car is running like a champ!

I have them in my old 94 Bonne SSEi, but its completely stock and it ran fine with them. But I wouldn't put them in the GTP and definitely not when I get deep into modding.

Pulstar plugs make me kind of curious... 16.99 a plug? Holy poop, what's the big deal about them?

Most people with E3's in their 3800s smash the plugs in, iirc. Thanks for the experiment, though.
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

Luckily, I didn't smash any plugs... They do not protrude any further than a standard plug.

BTW, the plugs I put in are not iridium, nor are they the stock heat range.

Probably just because the ones that were in there were fouled out and old and needed replaced.
