Someone may want to confirm this but i think the ceramic one is more heat resistant then the pained one is.

The painted one will burn off pretty quick. I bought the ceramic Plog, ran it for a while and now my son has it on his GTP. Still looks almost like it did new after 2 years. The stainless wasn't available back when I bought my ceramic one. Ceramic coating is supposed to help keep the heat in the exhaust system and out of the engine bay moer than uncoated.

yea. shorty's dont remove the u-bend but i dont think 04+ have a u-bend, i had mine off but dont remember excactly what it looked like but i dont think there was a u-bend. if there was a u-bend i would opp to get the full downpipe with cat to remove it, the u-bend can cause some knock

I would not buy a painted one. Stainless and not worry about the coating, if you are on a budget. I'm not even sure why they offer a painted non stainless one any more since a stainless is the same price.

In case a rear PEM crossed your mind, don't waste your money. Not worth the time or $$.

I ordered my Plog as a stainless uncoated and got my crossover ceramic coated. Both radiate very little heat now. Stainless does a good job on its own, but the iron crossover needed the ceramic help.

I have a guide for the removing the front manifold here, but I haven't heard back from SyntheticShield on what to do with it.

Damn near. The stainless that zzp uses will not surface rust like some headers. Heat retension may be a LITTLE bit better with ceramic but not much. Not nearly enough for the price difference.

The painted plog will flake off in no time, mine took 3 days and now looks like crap. When I ordered mine they didnt have any stainless in stock. Somewhere down the road ill glassbead it and do a nice thick Cerami-coat application to it.

Just the thread I needed. I was trying to figure out cermaic vs. stainless plog. I'm about to order the front stainless plog and am thinking about my crossover. I'm trying to decide if I should just wrap the crossover rather than by a ceramic one and save the $$. I've got the TB spacer and TB heat shield already installed so that has to be helping the cause some. Thanks.

i woudl recommend the ceramic plog. the coating on mine is still great too. it holds more heat inside the pipes where it should be instead of putting more into you engime bay and raiseing intake air temps.
