Why would a transmission cooler have anything to do with you dropping to a 3.5 pulley?

Protecting the tranny from added HP is on the top of a lot of peoples priorities. Heat is one of the main tranny killers. It really depends on how hard you are on the car.

If your only dropping to a 3.5 i'm assuming this is a DD. In that case you most likely wouldn't need a aux cooler for your trans in your vehicle.

You SHOULD be concerned about Kr tho. Optimally you should have a scanner to check for Kr. If you do the drop and get Kr [which you most likely will] you will need a CAI, exhaust work [a downpipe at the least], colder spark plugs and a colder T-stat.

Im not sure about the 07's but i have a 99 GTP and my trans temps are in the normal range, actually cooler then i expected. After running the car [idle for 4 mins and. light for 2 mins and then really hard for 2-3 mins] my trans temps were still below 180. You don't want your trans temps too cold as that could cause problems also.

3" ZZP Down pipe, 180 t-stat, autolite 104's and CAI on the way. 3.5 pulley to follow after Kr scan. I've seen my tranny temp go over 190 during a regular drive no speeding or anything, but thats maybe how the 07's run. it's only got 30k miles... Just found out 190-220 is ok for the tranny

The 180 stat will lower tranny temps, since the Trans cooler is in the radiator, ant the engine/radiator are operating cooler, the trans will stay a little cooler

i would suggest to both of you to not get the aux cooler. just a suggestion but many many times lines cant be secured enough and you end up worse after you have coolant EVERYWHERE. if you want you tranny temps and engine temps to run lower get a drilled 180 or just a plain 180 from zzp. i like my drilled one but its up to you. Then after that get a 1 3/8 radiator from zzp or there is a thread here how to get one at your local auto parts store.

It shouldn't have a big effect if any since it doesn't touch the cooling system

the trans cooler is routed into one of the tanks of the radiator (stock). I only intrested in this thread b/c all my trucks, hotrods, race cars of days gone by, I by-passed the stock cooler and added an aux cooler, and never had any problems.
